DAVID CHOE, DVS-1, JOE TO
David Choe, and crew flew into Denver in early 2012 to paint some murals for the Denver International Airport. The pieces will be displayed at DIA over the next five years, during the construction of the South Terminal.

DAVID CHOE & DVS1 FOR NUART 11
We have a whole host of terrific shorts from this years Nuart, shot and edited by Martin Hawkes at Saft Film, first out is the wild expression of David Choe and DVS1. Always a pleasure to watch these guys work, the added UV and dry ice at the opening was a proper mushroom trip. More of which later, Leon ?
Anyway, hoping to find the time and energy, not to mention finance, to be able to stitch these together at some point. For now, we'll be posting up as and when finished, hopefully one a week over the holiday period so check back soon for more films featuring Herakut, Vhils, Phlegm, Tellas, Escif & Hyuro.

DAVID CHOE & DVS1 ON THE STREETS
Finally managed to take a tour around the city on Sunday to check out a few bits and pieces I hadn't seen from this years Nuart. David Choe and DVS1 left a demon behind. Gabriel tried to open up the portal in an old fridge behind the block but we had to make a run for it as the whale on wild lettuce was right behind. Hey..
THE MINOTAUR
David Choe and DVS1 jumped from Nuart to London to participate in Lazarides The Minotaur project alongside the rest of the Galleries stable of artists, fine dinning meets fine art.
For The Minotaur, the Lazarides Gallery sought out Kofler & Kompanie, the company behind Pret A Diner - one of the forerunners of temporary dining spaces - which has been popping up with Michelin chefs all over Europe since 2004.

One of the most impressive installations we've seen from David Choe and DVS1, next level stuff with added UV and dry ice. Was thinking this morning about why these guys are important artists.. on one level, you know you could say "paint a dog riding a banana" " draw an elephant holding a machine gun being sucked into a black hole" " draw an exploding melon in the mouth of a whale"..and they could not only do it, but they could do it instantly. That's one thing..the other is the depth that these seemingly random doodles go, there's something truly timeless and human about it all. More bugged out Burroughs than academic art treaties, which should have you re-evalutaing the cultures that have inspired these guys.

Behind the scenes at Nuart 11, a relaxed affair in the Choe and DVS1 tunnel as Herbert Baglione adds some touches. This was then lit with UV, more on which shortly.
