RJ at Vandalog has just blogged a rather interesting post on the Wynwood walls project in Miami which gave us pause for thought, what with Woosters "Curated" Street Art Calanders,  and to a certain extent our own development and product. When capital becomes the primary force behind the creation of art, what does it lose. Maybe nothing to the street art tourist and the general populace, maybe nothing to the MOCA/Deitch/Goldman combine. Damn, it would be nice not to worry about this shit on a Monday. Do the means justify the ends or the ends justify the means. Having initially snuck past the two bastions of cultural and economic value, the museums and auction houses, has Street Art now been hijacked by the private sector and all we're left with are novelty street art erasers, calendars, ipad cases and cemeteries for Murals.
